The group Creed was formed in 1995 and is mainly known for the alternative rock music they produced throughout the late 90's. When the group first was established, some people thought they were a group that made Christian Music because their lyrics were filled with Christian values. Creed exists of four members, all stemming from Florida. They are lead singer Scott Stapp, lead guitarist Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall on Bass and Scott Phillips on drums.http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/Creed-Biography/DD940E7BAE39E8E9482568B1002CEBA4http://rock.about.com/od/creed/p/creed.htm
Creed's success came really fast making many people think they were just a fly by night group. However, the rock group proved everyone wrong and has sold 26 million albums in the United States alone. Some of Creed's hits include My Own heaven, Torn, What's this life for, One, and Higher.http://www.creed.com/site.html#/band
Creed History
The band Creed has released several albums over the years. Their first album My Own Prison was a great success and featured four number 1 hits. Their second album Human Clay sold over 10 million copies and featured the hit Higher. The album came in at number 1 on the Billboard 200 Album Charts. The band won a Grammy Award for 'Best Song of the Year' for With Arms Wide Open and a Billboard Music Award for 'Rock Artist of the Year'.
After crossing over into pop music and releasing several more albums, the band split up in 2004. It was said that this was due to Scott Stapp's alcohol and drug abuse and his bouts with depression. Five years later the group reunited and released the album Full Circle. They will go on their 20-10 tour in May 2010.http://www.creed.com/site.html#/bandhttp://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/Creed-Biography/DD940E7BAE39E8E9482568B1002CEBA4
Quotes

“When someone asks me if I’m a Christian, I have to say yes, because I am. But do you know I was never asked in 10 years if I was a Christian personally? We were only asked if Creed was a Christian band.” - Scott Stapphttp://rock.about.com/od/creed/p/creed.htm
"With My Own Prison, I knew we had the talent to get a record deal and I knew we had songs good enough to get played on the radio, but I never had any expectations of reaching this many people. - Scott Stapphttp://www.creedfeed.com/band/
