  • Creed was a Grammy winning band whose spiritual message and hard rock theatrics made them a lightning rod for both praise and derision.
  • Background

Formed in the early '90s in Florida, they recorded their debut, My Own Prison on a shoestring budget and released it independently. After the band signed to Wind-up Records and re-released the album nationwide, they began building momentum behind hit singles such as "Torn," "One," and "What's This Life For?"

Creed's follow up, Human Clay, became a huge success with number one singles "Higher" and "With Arms Wide Open." In total, the band's three albums have sold over 20 million copies in the United States alone.

  • Post Break-up

Creed disbanded in 2004 after their third album. Since breaking up, lead singer Scott Stapp has gone on to attempt a solo career, while guitarist Mark Tremonti and drummer Scott Phillips started their own band called Alter Bridge.
