The Crayola company, formerly known as Binney & Smith, is a manufacturing company of crayons, chalk, colored pencils and markers. The company also makes Silly Putty. Crayola crayons come in boxes ranging from 2 to 800 crayons for bulk size boxes.
The company was founded in 1885 when Edwin Binney and C. Harold Smith took over Binney’s father’s pigment company. In the early 1900s, the company moved to Easton, Pennsylvania and has been associated with that town ever since. Easton is also the home of the Crayola Factory.
