Cranberries

Categories: Food | Fruits | Food & Drink
  • The cranberry is a round-shaped, tart fruit that comes from low creeping vines that grow in bogs. It is initially white, but turns red when it ripens.

Cranberries are a major crop in the united States and Canada and is divided into four groups: the Common cranberry, Small cranberry, American cranberry and Southern Mountain cranberry.

Cranberries are considered a superfruit because they contain ideal qualities — high nutrient content, perceived health benefits, such as antioxidant qualities, convenience because of a reliable supply, and commercial success.

Cranberry sauce, cranberry juice, and sweetened dried cranberries are all popular ways of eating the fruit.
