Craig Schelske is the ex-husband of country star and former Dancing with the Stars contestant Sara Evans. In 2003, Schelske ran for Congress in Oregon's 5th District as a Republican, but lost. Schelske and Evans were married in 1993 in Sara's hometown of Boonesboro, Tennessee; they have three children, born between 1999 and 2003. In 2006, Evans sued for divorce from Schelske, citing irreconciliable differences stemming from Schelske's verbal and emotional abuse, his habit of watching pornographic films and from what she claimed was an adulterous affair with their children's former nanny. Schelske has denied the accusations, and has claimed that it was Evans that engaged in an affair during their marriage. Schelske and Evans met in Nashville in 1991 when both were employed as waiters at the Briley Parkway Holiday Inn.
