  • Craig Rivet is a professional hockey player originally from Canada, who plays with the Buffalo Sabres in the National Hockey League. Rivet was named captain of the Sabres in October of 2008.
  • Career Highlights

    Rivet began his career with the Kingston Frontenacs in the Ontario Hockey League in 1991. He was then drafted 58th overall in the 1992 NHL draft by the Montreal Canadiens. Rivet split his first four seasons between the Canadiens and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Fredericton Canadiens, making his NHL debut during the 1994-95 season. Rivet stayed with the Canadiens for a total of 12 seasons, playing in the SM-Liiga in Finland during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout. On February 25, 2007, Rivet was traded to the San Jose Sharks. He extended his contract with the Sharks on June 22, 2007, and will earn a reported $3.5 million each year over four years. On July 4, 2008, Rivet was traded to the Buffalo Sabres.
