  • Crackers are a popular choice for snacks and used in soup. There are many different types and brands of crackers including saltines, graham crackers, cheese flavored crackers, and Ritz to name a few. People like to eat crackers and cheese as a snack.

    John Pearson of Newburyport, Massachusetts, made what he called pilot bread made from just flour and water in 1792. This became popular with sailors because of its shelf life and was called a sea biscuit. This was the birth of the crackers we eat today.
