Courtney Hunt is the director of the Sundance feature film Frozen River. The drama about two single mothers who face crossing the Mohawk reservation border between New York State and Quebec at Christmas is her directorial debut. The film stars Melissa Leo, Misty Upham, Charlie McDermott Jr., and Michael O'Keefe.
Hunt was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for her piece, but the award went to Dustin Lance Black for Milk. Melissa Leo was also nominated for her acting prowess in the film.
