Our Expert: Julie Meyers

Music instructor Julie Meyers has been teaching bass, guitar, piano and voice lessons for nearly seven years. Meyers graduated summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music with a degree in songwriting. She has performed in hundreds of shows across the country and currently performs, records, and tours with the band Elegant Friction.

"With a Little Help from My Friends" is a song by rock legends, The Beatles, for the unique 1967 record, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The song features the first major writing contribution from drummer, Ringo Starr, with a little help from his friends, John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The song uses a limited range of chords and vocal exploration. The 2007 musical Across the Universe did a rendition of the song, highlighting both its flaws and talents.
