Joey Biagas is an audio engineer with a degree in Audio Recording from California State University Dominguez Hills. He picked up his first guitar at age 16 and has been working on musical projects ever since. He wrote, produced and recorded two solo EPs under his band name Setting Sunrise. Score View

You can edit the musical notations of your audio region within the Score View option of GarageBand. With this feature you can add, move or extend notes.


Track Editor Window

Access Score View by clicking on the track editor button and then selecting Score at the top left of the window. Your music notes will appear on a grand staff. 

On the left side of the window, find the Insert bar. When you click the bar you will see the music note options, including a whole note, half note, quarter note and others. Click on a note to select it. 







Insert the Note

Hold down the Apple key and hover over the grand staff with your mouse to get a preview of the note insertion. To insert the note, click on the staff where you want it. 

Move the Note

If you want to line up the note with another one, click and drag it along the staff

Extend or Shorten the Note

To make the note shorter or longer, hover over the end of the block until you see the bracket icon. Click and drag the bracket to the left or right to shorten or extend the music note.
