You can use the software instruments in GarageBand to record a variety of sounds for your music project.

Select Your Instrument Track

Select the track that you want to record with.

Check the Record Enable Button

Selecting a track automatically sets the Record Enable button. Check that this button is highlighted for the correct track.

Make sure you have not selected one track and clicked Record Enable for a different track. This could create unintended track recordings on your project.

Record

Click the Record button at the bottom center. Start playing the instrument. Stop recording when you are finished.
