Country Story is a game that is published by PlayFish for use on the social networking site Facebook. Released in July of 2009, game play involves growing crops and raising farm animals. Players provide simulated farmers with barns and farm buildings to make their country life more comfortable.

Unlike other games where you just plant, harvest and sell, this game provides you with various quests, or tasks. Some of the quests involve planting and harvesting, but others provide elements different than other Facebook games.

Having your Facebook Friends to help you with your crops and assisting them with their crops will make the game more fun. The more neighbors you have, the more interaction you will enjoy. There are Friendship points and bonuses available for turning in sticks and stones. You can have your friends look after your crops automatically. The Facebook friend doesn't need to do anything. Sending gifts to your Facebook friends will also increase your Friendship points.

You will only be able to work when you have sufficient stamina. Stamina replenishes every 6 hours. During the times that you have no stamina you will not be able to plant, harvest or perform any quests. If you have money you can buy food from the market to replenish your stamina. The cost and the amount of stamina you receive will depend on the type of food purchased.

Green Points are needed in order to level. Each activity is rewarded with green points:

Plowing: 8 green points

Planting seeds: 2 green points

Stealing another players crops: 1 green point

Watering crops: 1 green point

Harvesting offers a variety of green points

Green points are also earned for successful use of stamina.

When you first accept the application for Country Story, you will be given a short tutorial so that you become familiar with the tools and icons that will be used during game play. You will be shown how to plow, plant and harvest of course but you will also be shown how to water the plants and when that should be done. You will have to gather the water before watering the fields. You will gather the water in the blue watering can and then water the plots one at a time.

The Black glove icon will allow you to steal friend's fully grown plants. You will only be able to steal up to 5 plants per friend.

There are also friend points that you earn from being another players good friend. There is a balance to maintain in order to remain friends even while stealing from them in the game. If they have assigned a friend to watch over their crops you will not be able to steal from them. Once you have Friendship points you can assign a friend to look after your crops and this will prevent anyone from stealing your grown plants. This is an automatic process that does not require your friends to actually do any work. The avatar will do it all for them.

Visiting the Village

When you click the Village icon, you will be able to see all the places in the village you want to travel. Your home will be in the center and the remaining buildings will be on the map for you to select from.

1. Bank: Speak with the manager to see if he has any quests for you to complete.
2. Tree house: Visit the mayor to gather additional quests.
3. Livestock barn: Purchase animals for your farm.

As you can see, the game, Country Story is easy to learn, but there are a lot of added details to make game play more interesting.
