Country Joe McDonald

  • Country Joe McDonald Is an American singer-songwriter that sang with the band Country Joe and the Fish. McDonald is most popular for singing the anti-war hit, "The 'Fish' Cheer / I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-To-Die Rag" at Woodstock in 1969. At the age of 17 McDonald enlisted in the U.S. Navy and following his discharge after three years, he attended City College in Los Angeles for a year. McDonald moved to Berkeley, California to continue his schooling, McDonald began to spend most of his time playing in bands.
