What's a Davenport?
Especially in the Midwest around the middle of the 20th century, "davenport" was the term of choice used to describe the couch. It derived from the A.H. Davenport Company, which made couches, and the term eventually morphed into a general one meant to describe a higher-end couch or sofa. -
