Cory Doctorow is a Canadian science fiction author, columnist, blogger, educator, and speaker. He is an advocate for free content distribution, the Creative Commons, and privacy rights.
Blogging and Non-Fiction Work
Doctorow is one of the founding contributors of the BoingBoing website, where he blogs on science fiction, electronic privacy rights, Disneyania, open media, and other topics.
He is a regular columnist for The Guardian, and contributes essays and editorials to Make magazine, Wired, Popular Science, and others.
He has also written books on blogging and the craft of writing science fiction.
Teaching and Advocacy
Doctorow served as the European Affairs Coordinator for the Electronic Frontier Foundation from 2002 - 2006. During the 2006 academic year, he was a visiting professor at the University of Southern California. He taught at the Viable Paradise science fiction workshop in 2006, and serves on the boards of several technology companies.
