  • Corrosion of Conformity, also known as C.O.C., is an American metal band from Raleigh, North Carolina, with roots in the hardcore punk movement of the early 1980s. After the band's evolution from hardcore to metal—which bassist Mike Dean discusses the 2002 documentary American Hardcore - it also adopted elements of southern rock, an unusual influence for a hard-edged metal band. C.O.C. has collaborated with artists ranging from James Hetfield of Metallica to The Allman Brothers Band's Warren Haynes.
