  • Corpse Bride is a 2005 stop-motion animated film directed by Tim Burton and Mike Johnson. The movie, based on a Jewish folk tale entitled "The Finger," is set in 19th century Victorian Europe. It stars Johnny Depp as the voice of Victor Van Dort, a meek young man engaged to marry Victoria Everglot (Emily Watson) in an arranged ceremony. Through an unfortunate turn of events, Van Dort finds himself mistakenly married to Emily (voiced by Helena Bonham Carter), an inhabitant of the underworld.
