The University of Cornell Big Red men's basketball team plays NCAA Basketball in the Ivy League Conference of the North Eastern United States. This is a specialist conference for higher education institutions and also includes Brown University, Columbia University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania and Yale University. Cornell Big Reds 2009-2010 Season
The Cornell Big Reds secured a 27-4 record in the 2010 regular season. In the Ivy Conference, they finished 13-1 and in doing so won the conference. They finished two games ahead of Princeton University who had a conference record of 11-3. During the season, Ryan Wittman lead the team with 17.5 points per game. Jeff Foote lead the team on rebounds with an average of 8.2 points per game and contributing 12.3 points per game in total. In the first round of the NCAA the Cornell Big Reds beat Temple University 78-65. The game was played at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida on Friday, March 19, 2010. Louis Dale lead the team with 21 points and was closely followed by Ryan Wittman on 20 points. In the second round of the NCAA the Cornell Big Reds beat Wisconsin Badgers 87-69. The game was played at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida on Sunday, March 21, 2010. Louis Dale lead the team with 26 points and was closely followed by Ryan Wittman on 24 points. The Cornell Big Reds now (29-4) will move on to play number 1 seeds Kentucky (34-2) next after the Wildcats beat Wake Forest 90-60 on March 20. This match is on Thursday, March 25 and will be played in Syracuse, New York.
