Corn fritters are made by adding small amounts of a corn batter into a deep fryer or frying pan.
Ingredients
How to Make Corn Fritters
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or frying pan over medium heat.
- Sift the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder into a medium bowl.
- Mix the eggs, milk and butter in a large bowl.
- Add the dry ingredients to the egg and milk mixture 1/2 cup at a time while stirring.
- Add the corn to the batter and mix well.
- Gently drop the batter by tablespoon sized portions into the hot oil. Use caution when cooking with hot oil as adding the batter may cause splatters.
- Cook each fritter for two minutes on each side or until they are golden brown.
- Transfer to paper towels to cool.
- Serve with syrup, powdered sugar or honey, if desired, and enjoy!
