Coraline is an animated feature film based on the children's fantasy novel by Neil Gaiman. The film is directed by Henry Selick and features the voices of Dakota Fanning, John Hodgman and Teri Hatcher. It is the first stop-motion animation film to be shot [stereoscopically with a dual digital camera rig for digital 3-D exhibition.
Plot Summary
Coraline tells the story of a young girl who unlocks a mysterious door in her new home and enters into an adventure in a parallel reality. On the surface, this other world eerily mimics and improves her own life, with more attentive, loving parents and a home filled with impossible wonders. Ultimately, Coraline realizes this alternate reality is more sinister than it seems, and searches for a way to escape and return home.
