Plot Synopsis
Cookie's Fortune takes place in the small Mississippi town of Holly Springs, where wealthy widower Jewel Mae "Cookie" Orcutt has just committed suicide. Cookie's niece, Camille Dixon, is shocked by this revelation and terrified at the effect it will have on her family's reputation. In an effort to conceal the suicide, Camille stages a fake crime scene with the help of her daughter, Emma. The set-up leads the police to a suspect: Cookie's friend Willis Richard. Although the towns folk are sure Willis didn't commit the crime, the police aren't so sure.
