  • Conures are a group of small to medium-sized parrots that are playful, intelligent and often referred to as the clowns of the parrot family. Conures are capable of learning to talk and can be taught tricks and are appropriate both for beginner or experienced bird owners. A tame Conure will quickly bond to its new owners and become part of the family.

    1. Conures are happier if kept with a cage mate.
    2. Feed a wide variety of foods for a healthy diet.
    3. Conures love toys, mix them up, changing toys everyday to keep the bird entertained.
    4. Keep the cage clean.
    5. Keep wings clipped.
    6. Trim nails regularly.
    7. Keep Quickstop (a styptic powder clotting agent safe for birds) handy in case of bleeding pin feathers or nails.
    8. Offer fresh food and water daily.
    9. Conures love to play in water, offer a bathing tub or bowl of water.
    10. Cuttlebone provides necessary minerals.
