Contrave is an experimental weight loss drug that has shown promise in clinical trials.
In a 56 week trial of 700 obese people which included counseling, diet, and exercise study participants who took Contrave lost an average of approximately 9% of their body weight -- 20 to 25 pounds. In addition more than 29% lost more than 15% of their body weight. By comparison those who didn't take Contrave lost slightly over 5% of their body weight -- 11 to 16 pounds. 11% of participants who finished the study lost more than 15% of their body weight.http://www.webmd.com/diet/news/20090608/contrave-new-weight-loss-drug-advances
