Contessa Brewer

Contessa Brewer is a news anchor on MSNBC. Prior to joining the MSNBC team in September 2003, Brewer anchored in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at WTMJ-TV, in Palm Springs, California and in Reno, Nevada at KRNV-TV.

On June 9, 2009, Brewer became frustrated during an interview with Sarah Palin supporter John Zeigler. To end the resulting clash of personalities, she had his mic turned off to silence him.AlterNet: Contessa Brewer Steamed... (June 9, 2009)

Early Years

In 1992, Brewer graduated from Sacopee Valley Jr-Sr High School, which was located in Hiram, Maine. Following high-school graduation, Brewer went on to attend Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, which she graduated from magna cum lauda with a degree in broadcast journalism.

Don Imus Controversy

In 2005, Brewer and Don Imus had a public feud, after Imus overheard Brewer insult him on the air. Imus countered on his own radio show, calling Brewer "fat" and "dumb."
