Connecticut Election Results

General elections took place in Connecticut on November 2, 2010 with residents voting for a governor, a senator and five House members.http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2010/results/state/#val=CT More than twenty four hours after the polls closed, and a state official had declared the Democratic candidate, Dan Malloy, the winner in the Governor's race, the Associated Press withdrew their call on the winner saying the numbers are questionable.http://www.myfoxny.com/dpp/news/politics/winner-in-connecticut-governor-race-unclear-malloy-foley-20101103

On the Wednesday following the election, both Malloy and his Republican opponent, Tom Foley, were claiming victory and beginning transition to assume the office being vacated by Connecticut Gov. Jodi Rell. Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz had earlier said Malloy was leading but the win was challenged by Foley. Voters elected Democrat Richard Blumenthal to fill the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Democrat Chris Dodd. Blumenthal was serving as the Attorney General for Connecticut when he decided to run for Senate.
