Gameplay
In addition to revamping the forensics and combat system, Monolith is also introducing a variety of multiplayer modes including Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, a cops vs. thugs variation of Team Deathmatch known as Bum Rush, and Crime Scene, which involves one team utilizing special tools in order to search for a hidden box while the other hides and defends it.
Taking note of the criticism they received for the original game, the developers have decided to give players more choices in terms of how they want to progress. Those who prefer to bypass the forensic investigations may do so at their discretion, but will miss out on player upgrade points, which can be used to acquire body armor or increase Ethan’s maximum health. Combos and new finishing moves have also been implemented, but what makes the latter particularly interesting is the fact that players can observe their surroundings and now use the environment to kill their stunned enemies.
