On May 22, 2008, a tornado touched down in Weld County, Colorado roughly 50 miles north of Denver shortly after 11:00 am local time.The storm continued northwest, heading for Ft. Collins.

Damages
Damage has been reported to several buildings, and schools in the area were put on lockdown during the storm. At least one tractor trailer rig has been reported overturned by the storm as well.Traffic in the region of Colorado Highway 60 and U.S. 85 was closed while emergency crews were on the scene.
Fatalities
One fatality has been confirmed by officials. A man who was a resident of the Missile Park Campground outside of Greeley, Colorado was apparently killed when his recreational vehicle was destroyed by the storm.
