  • The Colorado river is found in the southwestern part of the United States and northern Mexico. The river is approximately 1,450 miles long running into the Gulf of California. Flows ranged from 4000 cubic feet during times of drought and over 1,000,000 cubic feet during floods.

    The Colorado River feeds many lakes and streams as well as many major cites such as Las Vegas. The river provides many location for recreations like Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Lake Mohave, and Lake Havasu National Recreation Area home of the retired New London Bridge.

  • Wildlife

    The Colorado River is home to fourteen native species of fish, four of which are on the endangered species list, the Colorado pikeminnow (formerly Colorado squawfish), razorback sucker, bonytail chub, and humpback chub.
