• Gameplay

  The game focuses on college basketball and allows for different modes of play: Open or career. Career mode allows players to take a currently weak team and bring them into the national spotlight. Open mode allows players to choose whichever school they want. Like College Hoops 2K7, the game emphasizes the effect the crowd has on the team. Fans have the ability to disrupt the concentration of the opponents and give momentum boosts to the home team. This boost allows for easier shots and can be extended by making more shots or having a strong defense.: College Hoops 2K8 Review There are also new additions:

  1. Lock-on defense: Helps positions defenders in front of ball handlers
  2. Coaching adjustments: Allows players to analyze how they are playing and provide various suggestions to improve play
  3. Chant creator: Create school chants for the audience
  4. Play designer: Players can create their own playbook

  The passing between teammates has not changed and players often will pass a ball to some one they did not intend. Maximum passing was intended to correct this problem, but ball handlers in College Hoops 2K8 throw the ball too hard.: College Hoops 2K8 Review The amount of recruitable players from high school has increased to 1500 and there are 128 teams to play against. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions received higher scores than the PS2 version because the PS2 version does not include the coaching adjustments or play designer.
