Colin Powell Barack Obama

  • Colin Powell praises Barack Obama but has stopped short of endorsing the presidential candidate. Powell says that he hasn't decided yet who he will be voting for in the upcoming election, and that he is lookint at all the candidates. Despite his reluctance to publicly endorse any single candidate, he does have a lot of praise for Senator Barack Obama. Powell is a well known Republican Party supported, having served on the Bush administration as Secretary of State. However, it appears that his party affiliation doesn't not carry enough weight for him to support Senator John McCain either.

During an interview with Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America Powell outlined some issues that he felt would face the next president. One of the key points he sees as needing to be addressed will be the troop withdrawal from Iraq. Powell praised Obama for his handling of the Jeremiah Wright affair, which has garnered a lot of media attention. Only time will tell who Powell will support in the election.
