Cole Haan is a high-end, long time shoe and accessory line that was purchased by Nike in 1988. In 2006, the company launched its Cole Haan Nike Air collection of comfort-designed dress shoes.

Cole Haan's Nike Air line does include men's models, but the women's high heels have drawn the most press attention. The shoes, which have been featured on Oprah, are designed to alleviate the usual discomfort of high heels by padding the ball and heel of the foot with Nike Zoom air bags. A pair made a red carpet appearance at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, on the feet of a pregnant Angelina Jolie.
