"Violet Hill" is the new single from the English rock band Coldplay. It was available as a free download for one week beginning on April 29, 2008, on the band's website.
A simple sign-up (email, zip, country) is required for download.
In addition, the song can be heard on the band's MySpace site. "Violet Hill" will also be made available as paid digital release on May 6, 2008.

"Violet Hill" was expected to be the first single from Coldplay's forthcoming album, Viva la Vida. The album, produced by Brian Eno, will be released on June 12, 2008. The band also planned two give two free concerts to support the album in New York and London. -
