Colby Lewis is a pitcher who plays for the Texas Rangers in Major League Baseball. Lewis came up with the Rangers after the team drafted him in the 1999 supplemental draft. He would pitch with the team for parts of three seasons from 2002 to 2004 before being waived from the team following the 2004 season. In 2010, Lewis pitched in the major leagues for the first time since 2007. He would make a career high 32 starts and pitched in the playoffs for the first time. The Rangers brought Lewis back in the 2010 season after Lewis had spent two seasons pitching in Japan. He was inserted into the team's rotation, a position he hadn't held on any major league team since 2003. Lewis finished the 2003 season with a record of 12-13. Lewis made his MLB playoff debut in 2010 as well as the Rangers won the AL West division. He would lose his first playoff game, game three of the American League Division Series against the Tampa Bay Rays. Lewis would pitch again in the ALCS, against the New York Yankees. He would win both starts he made, including a series-clinching victory in game six. Lewis spent the 2009 season pitching in Japan, with the Hiroshima Carp. Lewis pitched in 29 games with the team, earning a record of 11-9.
