  • Colby College is a private institution of higher education granting undergraduate degrees. Previously an all-male college, it is the 12th oldest independent liberal arts school in the nation. The school's athletic teams are members of the NESCAC.

    Originally founded in 1813 by Baptists, Colby College moved from downtown Waterville to a 714 acre area shortly after. By 1937 the college had 62 buildings. The school offers majors in Biology, Economics, English, and History. The college has 32 varsity teams and a 197,000 square foot Athletic Center.
