A coffee maker is a kitchen appliance used to brew coffee. Usually coffee makers brew coffee automatically without requiring heated water. Many coffee makers feature a timer so that coffee can be made just as a person gets up from bed.
There are several types of brewing methods that coffee makers use for brewing coffee, the most popular being the single drip method.
Cleaning
Tips for Use
Avoid using hard or non-filtered water. Water with a lot of minerals can cause mineral deposits to build up inside your coffee maker and alter the taste of your coffee. Consider buying a water filter or using bottled water if you have hard tap water.
Don't put hot water in the coffee maker. The machine will heat up the water automatically.
Don't let the coffee sit on the heat for more than 30 minutes as this will cause it to become bitter.
Turn off the coffee machine when you are done drinking coffee to avoid damaging the machine or starting a fire.
