CNG Vehicles are cars that run on Compressed Natural Gas, the same kind of fuel that would heat a home, or run a gas stove. CNG is a fossil fuel and considered one of the cleanest burning alternative fuels. A CNG vehicle runs solely on natural gas, while duel-fuel or bi-fuel can run on a combination of natural gas and diesel.

Brand new CNG Vehicles are limited in availability. The Honda GX CNG is the only new CNG vehicle available in the United States. However, CNG conversion kits are available. A conventional vehicle can be retrofitted for CNG.
