Clown Travel Agency

    • Addresses appear in major cities throughout the United States, as well as locations in London, Paris, Hong Kong, and Sao Paulo
    • Locations are all bowling alleys
    • The numbers underneath the addresses correspond to storage lockers, and the lock combinations to open them
    • Inside each locker is a bag containing a purple and green bowling ball and another bag containing a smartphone, a phone charger, and a Joker playing card
    • The exclusion of a location in New York City is most likely due to Heath Ledger, who played The Joker in the upcoming movie and lived there until his recent suicide.
  • Clown Travel Agency is a website created as part of the viral marketing campaign for the Batman movie, The Dark Knight. The website consists of an interactive image of a stained suitcase with stickers on it from around the world. Underneath the suitcase is an enveloped marked: "Departure Date 4-01," coinciding with the release of the website, and the beginning of this phase of the marketing campaign.

When users click on the papers that stick out of the envelope, a cryptic message pops up which, when clicked, displays a list of addresses around the world. The addresses are accompanied by a series of numbers. The list disappears soon after the addresses are displayed and reveals a final message with instructions directing them to another website, presumably another part of the marketing campaign.
