Viral Campaign
Cloverfield, similar to the 1999 film The Blair Witch Project, is presented with the idea that everything seen is real footage taken by a hand-held camera in real time, and that the events of the movie actually happened. In keeping with the theme, Paramount Pictures launched an interactive promotional campaign, mostly through the use of a number of web sites. This style of marketing campaign has been utilized by producer J.J. Abrams before to promote his television show LOST. -
