Cloverfield Monster

Ever since the original trailer for Cloverfield was released, there has been wide speculation as to what the Cloverfield Monster actually is. Director Matt Reeves has stated the destructive monster is a baby that is lost, upset and separated from its home. The identity and even look of the monster was a closely guarded secret up until the release of the movie. Prior to release fans speculated about the monsters appearance and several fake photos/drawings made their way onto the Internet. Even during the movie itself we see only small glimpses of the creature.

Fast Facts:

  1. The monsters origin is not revealed
  2. Possibly an animal from the sea
  3. According to Matt Reeves (the Director) the monster is not inspired by H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu.
  4. Has crab like parasites that drop of him as he moves
  5. At the end of the movie "it's still alive" can be heard when played in reverse
