Launched at CES in January 2008, the Cloudbook is a small, low-cost "ultra-mobile" laptop (or subnotebook) from the Fremont, California based Everex Corporation. It features a Linux-type operating system, known as Google Operating System due to its heavy use of Google applications.
Pointing System
While most laptops—including other subnotebooks—have a standard-sized touchpad centered beneath the keyboard, with left and right mouse buttons adjacent, Everex has redesigned this system for added portability. On the Cloudbook, a small, stamp-sized touchpad is located above the keyboard on the right-hand side, with mouse buttons set above the keyboard to the left. This system allows the user to surf the internet while walking—holding the Cloudbook with both hands, and using the thumbs to control the touchpad and mouse buttons.
