  • Clipse are an American Hip-Hop duo consisting of brothers Gene and Terrence Thornton. In 1993, with the help of producer Pharrell Williams, Clipse were signed to Elektra Records. After their debut album failed to chart, they were dropped from the label.

    In 2007, producer and record executive Rick Rubin signed the duo to Columbia Records.   • Career

    Clipse formed in 1992 and with the help of Pharrell Williams singed a deal with Elektra Records in 1999. Williams, who is one half of The Neptunes has worked with the Clipse on all of their albums. Their debut release, Exclusive Audio Footage, was a commercial failure but the albums that followed, Lord Willin and Hell Hath No Fury, were critical and commercial successes. 2006's Hell Hath No Fury in particular received unanimous praise and eventually ending up on most critics year end Top 10 lists. Their next album is due sometime in 2009.
