Primary challenger Hillary Clinton had been considered a possible running mate for Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama before the official selection of Delaware Senator Joe Biden was announced.
On June 2, 2008, amidst rising delegate counts and projections of Obama winning the nomination, Clinton had given some indication that she wass open to accepting the VP spot on the Democratic Party ticket.
