  • Cliff Richard is a British musician and actor whose career spans six decades. While Richard has had hit songs in the United States, he is much more well-known in the United Kingdom, where he is among most popular entertainers of all time. One of the early rock and roll performers in Britain, Richard scored hits with songs like "Move It" and "Travellin' Light". He became a movie star in England as well with such films as The Young Ones and Finders Keepers.

In the mid-'60s, Richard devoted himself to Christianity and focused much of his time on his faith. This period marked a slight departure from the harder rock music that characterized his early career, although by the mid-'70s he decided to make a comeback into heavier music with his album I'm Nearly Famous Cliff Richard|I'm Nearly Famous.

In 1995, Richard became the first rock musician ever to be knighted.
