  • Life and Career

Born in Arkansas in 1978, Lee was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 2000 draft and was later traded to the Cleveland Indians in 2002 as part of a deal involving pitcher Bartolo Colón. He made his first Major League appearance in 2002, but did not become a regular part of the Cleveland starting rotation until 2004, when he won 14 games and lost 8. However, his ERA in 2004 was a hefty 5.43. However, in 2005, Lee compiled an 18-5 record and a 3.79 ERA for the Indians, finishing fourth in Cy Young Award balloting. Lee's 2006 season was shaky, although he finished with a 13-11 record; however, his 2007 season saw him become injured and then sent down to the minors.
  • 2008 Season

Given Lee's track record over the past two years, not much was expected of him by the Indians organization in 2008. However, Lee began the season on fire. He won his first six starts, jumping out to a 6-0 record, with a miniscule 0.81 ERA. Baseball experts have been discussing the possibility of an All-Star Game start for the hurler, and if he keeps it up, perhaps a Cy Young Award.
