Players can play multiple positions, depending on their how the suite the position
Guards tend to shorter, faster and better ball-handlers. Guards are responsible for getting the team into their offense and providing outside shots.
Forwards often tend mix size with a perimeter game. They can either play close to the basket or make defenses guard them out near the three point line.
Centers strictly play close to the basket. They're main job is to rebound missed shots and try to block the opposing team's attempts at the basket.

Best All-Time Combination
The Cleveland Cavaliers have had few successful years in their history until recently. The team drafted LeBron James in 2003 and starting in 2006 has made the playoffs for five straight years. In 2009 and 2010 the Cavaliers posted consecutive 60+ win seasons, becoming the first team to do so since the 1996 and 1997 Michael Jordan-era Chicago Bulls. The Cavaliers hopes of winning a championship have never been higher or their chances ever been better. Still, the future remains uncertain with LeBron James' pending free agency, but the Cavaliers are hopeful that James will resign. If James does return to Cleveland after this Summer, the best may be yet to come. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/cle/roster
