The Cleveland Cavaliers have been in the NBA since their debut in 1970. Throughout those years, there has been heartbreak in Cleveland. The team started off their franchise very poorly and rarely made the playoffs. Then, 2003, everything changed. Although the Cavaliers finished the season with the worst record in the NBA, things were looking up for Cleveland. The Cavaliers would select Lebron James with the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft. He would change the Cavaliers games forever. Gone were the days of boring Cavalier games and losing seasons. One of the most important event of the Cleveland Cavaliers was when David Stern announced the first pick of the Draft. Lebron James was going to be a Cavalier. James he averaged 20.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game during his rookie season. James became just the third rookie in NBA history to average 20+ points, 5+ rebounds and 5+ assists. Only Michael Jordan and Oscar Robertson were the only other rookies to do that. Another exciting event for the Cavaliers was on May 22nd, 2010. The Cleveland Cavaliers were playing the Orlando Magic in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The winner of the series would make the NBA Finals. Game 2 had one second left on the clock. The Cavaliers has the ball down 95-93. A 2-point basket would tie the game where a 3-point shot, would win the game. Cavaliers guard Mo Williams inbounded the ball to Lebron James. James shot a three a made the shot before the buzzer sounded. The Cavaliers won the game 96-95.

Many people believe Lebron James is the best player in the NBA. Some say he will become the greatest player in basketball when he retires. Buzzer beating shots definitely help. It was very important for the Cavaliers to win the game because if they lost, they would go back to Orlando for Game 3 down 2-0 in the series.
