  • Stadium History

Cleveland Browns Stadium was built on the same location as the former Cleveland Municipal Stadium. The Municipal Stadium was originally built in 1930 and was home to the MLB's Cleveland Indians. This original stadium was demolished in 1996, with the debris placed in the nearby Lake Erie. The new Cleveland Browns Stadium was built on the same site, and opened in 1999.
