Claudine Longet

Claudine Longet was an actress and singer most popular during the 1960s and early 1970s. Longet was convicted of criminal negligence in the fatal shooting of Spider Sabich and was ordered to spend 30 days in jail and pay a small fine.

Following her divorce from singer Andy Williams, Claudine Longet began living with American Olympic skier "Spider" Sabich. On March 21, 1976, Sabich was shot in the back in his home in Starwood, Colorado. Longet was charged with manslaughter and was eventually convicted of criminal negligence, for which she served 30 days at times of her choosing. After the trial, her defense lawyer, Ron Austin left his wife and family to be with Longet. The two later married.
