Personal Life

In 1985, one year after they started dating, Cohen married Ronald Perelman. Together they had one daughter. In addition, Cohen dated and was engaged to Senator Al D'Amato, from New York.

Background

Cohen joined the staff of the New York Post in 1976, where she wrote for the now famous gossip column Page Six. She is credited with being the driving force behind the column's success. Two years later she became editor. However, in 1980, she left her job at the Post to pursue her own gossip column called I, Claudia. It did not experience the success that her previous column did. Until the time of her death, Cohen could regularly be seen on Live with Regis and Kelly.
