CJ Jeans are jeans created by Cookie Johnson, wife of former NBA player Magic Johnson. In October of 2009, Oprah Winfrey named the CJ by Cookie Johnson jeans as her "new favorite jeans."http://www.oprah.com/slideshow/oprahshow/20091015-tows-cookie-johnson-jeans
Johnson says she decided to design the jeans after she couldn't find any jeans that fit her well. The jeans, which are available in a variety of different styles and cuts, are sold at upscale department stores nationwide, including Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.http://www.oprah.com/slideshow/oprahshow/20091015-tows-cookie-johnson-jeans
Why Jeans?
Cookie Johnson says her line of premium blue jeans offers a versatile fit for women who have "real" bodies - those who are not necessarily stick-thin. The jeans are designed with a roomier fit in the seat and the thighs, to allow a more comfortable fit for women who are curvy. Johnson says the project was not created solely for financial purposes - she simply became frustrated when she was trying to find a pair of jeans that fit her the right way. Johnson's husband, Magic Johnson, says he's very supportive of his wife's new fashion efforts. Cookie Johnson says each different fit is named after "Godly" attributes and values - including love, faith, grace and truth.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaqgJKg2fog
